How to Think Positive With Subliminal Messages

Article Directory :: Self-Improvement/Motivation Articles

Did you know that 90% of what we worry in a day never happens? It is in our innate being to worry most of the time because we all feel that negative things happen most of the time, and they become more realistic than our positive thoughts. Keeping a positive outlook is crucial in life.

Positive people receive far more out of life, they entice other people with similar positive attitudes and vice versa. They enjoy life more, they look on the bright side of living.

The health benefits of positive thinking

Researchers continue to explore the effects of positive thinking and optimism on health. Health benefits that positive thinking may provide include:

1. Increased life span

2. Decrease levels of distress

3. Greater resistance to the common cold

4. Better psychological and physical well-being

5. Reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease

6. Decrease rates of depression

7. Better coping skills on challenges and times of stress

The theory says that having a positive outlook in life enables you to cope better with stressful situations, which reduces the harmful health effects of stress on your body. Positive and optimistic people are also more productive than worriers and they get more physical activity, follow a healthier diet, and don't smoke or drink alcohol in excess.

You can have a positive outlook in life, even in most challenging times and you can do this by practicing it. Most people have developed positive thinking capabilities, naturally, over many years - maybe due to early positive experiences in their childhood for example. Even if you haven't developed the ability to think positively, you can master it all the same.

There are lots of tools to help you think positively but the most effective (by research) is subliminal messages. Subliminal messages are an extremely effective tool - much like hypnosis - which is used to specifically target the negative beliefs and thoughts in your subconscious mind - gradually the messages will begin to replace the negative thoughts with positive ones.

Subliminal messaging is often described as a soft form of hypnosis. After absorbing these messages, the result is a positive outcome and a change within the mind - delivering the same result. Subliminal mp3s also work by bypassing your conscious mind and sending information right to your subconscious. You won't consciously hear anything, however the subliminal statements will still make their way into your subconscious mind, and as they build up, changes from the inside occur, which grow to produce external lasting changes too. Right after hearing the subliminal mp3s, you will see the improvements in your inner thought patterns, self beliefs, and also your physical behavior patterns.

Find out how subliminal messaging can assist you in finding harmony in your life, be more alert and develop a strong sense of self belief will help you in so many other areas of your life at Clear Away Stress Now.

Great Books for Kids and Teens: Its Monday 5/28! What Are You ...

Happy Memorial Day!? These Monday holidays always feel strange, to not have to get up to the alarm and run around first thing on a Monday morning - not that I'm complaining!? My younger son has been in Connecticut with his grandparents this weekend, and my husband, older son, and I have been taking it easy, trying to recover a bit from our hectic weeks.? And there is lots more to come!? This week, we have a raft of school functions, leading up to Jamie's high school graduation on Friday and Craig's "graduation" from middle school next Wednesday, accompanied by lots of family visits!

So, not a lot of time for reading this week, but we all managed some:

  • I am almost...wait a minute...OK.? I have just now finished The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern.? This completely unique novel grew on me, pulled me in until I felt I was part of it and came to care about the characters.? I'm sorry it is over now.
  • I am still listening to Ghost Knight, a middle-grade novel by Cornelia Funke.? It's very good so far.
  • My husband, Ken, is still reading A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin and enjoying it.? He thinks our oldest son would probably like it, too.
  • Jamie, 17, has been reading Spiral by Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams, Book 5 of the Tunnels series.? He says the books just get better and better, and the authors have amazing imaginations!? I've only read the first one, so I will have to check out the rest of the series one of these days.
  • Craig, 14, has been reading Brian's Winter by Gary Paulsen, one of many sequels to The Hatchet, a favorite in our family.
I did finally find time to write a couple of reviews last week (while in medical waiting rooms!):? Faith by Jennifer Haigh, a hit with my book group, and the teen/YA novel Dead To You by Lisa McMann which I loved.

But the big news here is that I am hosting my first-ever reading challenge!? Big Book Summer Challenge is an easy, laid-back challenge perfect for the relaxed summer months, a chance to tackle one or more of the long books you've been meaning to read but never seem to find time for.? Check it out and sign up!? Here are my own big book goals for the summer.

What are you and your family reading this week?

(What are you reading Monday is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, with a kids/teen version hosted by Teach Mentor Texts.)

OFCCP: The most powerful agency you've never heard of ...

The U.S. Department of Labor?s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Pro??grams (OFCCP) monitors and enforces federal contractors? compliance with the nation?s employment laws. Think of it as a parallel EEOC, but focused only on federal contractors. In many ways, it?s the most powerful government agency you?ve never heard of.

If you do business with Uncle Sam, you may come under OFCCP scrutiny. One recent case shows how far the OFCCP can reach. But recent legislation put the brakes on the agency?s authority.

??? ?Read the fine print: A federal contractor recently agreed to pay $219,000 to settle OFCCP discrimination allegations?more than five years after its compliance review was resolved.

In 2006, the contractor signed a conciliation agreement that required it to provide the OFCCP with periodic reports of its hiring activity. But, ironically, the reports provided evidence of discriminatory hiring practices, resulting in a large monetary settlement to rejected applicants, along with obligations to revamp the company?s hiring practices.

The moral of this story? Signing an OFCCP conciliation agreement may end a compliance review but it does not end a contractor?s obligation to carefully monitor its hiring practices?and the data provided to the OFCCP.

??? ?Some hospitals off the OFCCP hook: In December 2011, Section 715 of the National Defense Authorization Act was enacted. It exempts employers from OFCCP jurisdiction simply because they are network providers under TRICARE, the Pentagon?s health care program for military members.

This legislation took the wind out of the OFCCP?s attempts to assert jurisdiction over employers just because they provide services to TRICARE patients.

Learn more about OFCCP enforcement authority at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

Nuclear Tuna Is Hot News, But Not Because It's Going To Make You Sick

A Tokyo sushi restaurant displays blocks of fat meat tuna cut out from a 269kg bluefin tuna.

What snarky headline writer could resist a story about "hot tuna?" Or how about "tuna meltdown?"

Really, it seems just plain daffy to ignore a new study that says some Pacific bluefin tuna picked up traces of radioactive material from the Fukushima nuclear disaster last year and brought it across the Pacific Ocean.

And while, as a rule, we avoid making light of nuclear disasters, the tuna story is actually just plain curious, rather than threatening, once you understand the context.

?

You see, Pacific bluefin tuna spawn off the coast of Japan. They are superb swimmers, so in a few months time, they make it across the Pacific to the coast of Mexico and Southern California to feed ? and then get caught. They are also delicious, pricey and on the verge of population collapse, according to Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch.

Last summer, scientists bought 15 of these beautiful fish from the docks in San Diego to check them for contaminants.

Fish do carry contaminants. Most significant from the standpoint of public health is methyl mercury, which is a neurotoxin. It's especially a risk for developing fetuses, which is why the U.S. government urges women of child-bearing age to limit their tuna consumption.

A Pacific bluefin tuna. WorldFish Center/FishBase

A Pacific bluefin tuna.

The researchers are still waiting for their mercury results on this particular batch of fish. But Monday they published other findings in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Sure enough, the tuna from Japan had picked up traces of radioactive cesium, according to Nicholas Fisher and Zofia Baumann at Stony Brook University, and Daniel Madigan at Stanford University, who co-wrote the article.

The cesium was a blend of two different varieties ? cesium-134 and cesium-137. The exact mix of these isotopes creates a signature showing that the radiation came from the multiple meltdowns last March in Fukushima.

Fisher says they weren't actually worried about radioactive cesium as a health risk. They tested the flesh, "mostly just to see if it we could detect it, and we were quite surprised, I must say. We did not expect to see this radioactivity retained by the fish during their trans-Pacific voyage, which we estimates takes from three to four months."

Yes, radiation in seafood seems scary. But here's the catch (if you pardon the expression). Tuna, like every other food on the planet, already contains naturally occurring radiation. It has potassium-40 and polonium-210. It always has and it always will. In addition, seafood in general contains a trace of cesium-137 left over from nuclear weapons testing in the 1950s and 1960s.

So the question is, how much more radiation did these particular tuna fish contain? The answer is: A trivial amount. In fact, radiation from the cesium is 30 times less than the radiation that's already in the fish naturally in the form of potassium-40, according to the research paper. And the natural polonium-210 packs a radiation dose 200 times larger than the dose from the cesium.

Really, the result is a testament to how well scientists can now measure tiny amounts of radiation. And of course it's a remarkable lesson in how wildlife can be traced using accidental "tags" instead of using the labor-intensive plastic ones.

If you are still worried about the cesium from Fukushima, Robert Emery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston says you'd need to eat 2.5 to 4 tons of tuna in a year to get a dose of cesium-137 that exceeds health limits. That's a lot of sushi.

Yes, bluefin is used primarily for sushi. And, much of the Pacific bluefin tuna that's caught off the coast of Mexico and Southern California is shipped right back across the ocean, to be sold at the lucrative seafood markets ? in Japan.

Eyeblinks reveal what autistic toddlers pay attention to

In this groundbreaking adventure into the worlds of psychopaths, the renowned psychologist Kevin Dutton argues that there is a fine line between a brilliant...

Tracking eye movements lets scientists figure out what we pay attention to in a scene. When people blink during such experiments, those few milliseconds are usually discarded as junk data. A new study finds that blinking might reveal important information, too. It turns out that the more we blink, the less focused is our attention. In kids with autism, blink patterns appear to offer clues about how they engage with the world around them.

During eye-tracking experiments with toddlers, Warren Jones, a pedia?trician at the Emory University School of Medicine, found that the children were strategic about when they blinked. While watching a recorded scene, the toddlers seemed to inhibit their blink?ing during the moments that sucked them in. ?The timing of when we don?t blink seems to relate to how engaged we are with what we?re looking at,? Jones says.

He now uses this discovery as a tool to study attention in autistic children. In a paper published last December in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA, Jones observed differences in the blinking patterns of autistic and develop?mentally normal children. Both groups watched a video that included moments of human emotion and sudden action. Developmentally normal children inhibited their blinking before emo?tional climaxes, as though they were following the narrative and predicting an outcome. Autistic children blinked right through those moments, sug?gesting they were not following the emotional arc of the story, but they responded sharply when an object suddenly moved.

The results confirm well-established observations of attention in autistic children?namely, they are more in?terested in action than in emotional phenomena. They also validate eyeblink studies as a powerful research tool, Jones says. The approach could be particularly helpful in exploring the minds of nonverbal children and may help define new subcategories of autism.

Justin Bieber wanted for questioning in scuffle

CALABASAS, Calif. (AP) ? Justin Bieber is wanted for questioning by Los Angeles County Sheriff's investigators after a photographer complained of being roughed up by the pop star at a shopping center.

Sheriff's Lt. Robert Wiard (ward) says the photographer called 911 on Sunday and complained of pain to his chest. Wiard said the scuffle happened when the photographer tried to snap pictures of Bieber and his girlfriend, teen actress Selena Gomez, after they walked out of a theater at The Commons at Calabasas.

Wiard says the photographer was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released.

He says Bieber and Gomez left before deputies arrived, so investigators want to talk to him to get his side of the story.

A call to Bieber's publicist was not immediately returned late Sunday.
